Barbara Chandler

Barbara Jean (Heman) Chandler, of Sugar Land, Texas, formerly of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away Thursday February 13, 2025, after a sudden illness.

Barbara was born on Wednesday, July 16, 1941, in Sarcoxie, Missouri to the union of the late Paul and Selma (Frickenschmidt) Heman. She was a graduate of Sarcoxie High School. 







On November 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jay L. “Jerry” Chandler, together they shared sixty years of wonderful memories until his passing on January 11, 2018. They made Carthage their home for several years before becoming full time RV’ers and then finally locating to Sarcoxie. Barbara retired from the Missouri Department of Revenue after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of Blake Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. After Jay’s passing, she moved to Sugar Land, Texas to be close to her son. She will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry “Jay” Chandler; sister Dorothy Patton and brother Don Heman.

Barbara is survived by her son, Robby Jay Chandler of Sugar Land Texas; brother-in law, Dave Patton; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.








Graveside services are 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Fullerton Cemetery, south of Carthage with Pastor Jerry Mayfield officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Dave Patton, Alan Patton, Dave Lawyer, Larry Frickenschmidt, Mark Heman and Ken Shumny.
