Jerry attended Catholic School in Miami through the third grade, He graduated from Miami High School with the Class of 1970. He grew up in the Catholic faith along with his family. Later, he would join the First Baptist Church in Miami where he and Becky attended along with their two sons. Jerry accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized in October of 1992.

Jerry worked for Neil Norton Motor Company, Trigg Snyder dealership, Wicker Chysler dealership, Bayliner Marine, and Tracker Marine. He retired in November 2019 due to the onset of dementia. He was a dedicated and hard worker, a great example for his sons, and a constant provider for his family.

Jerry and Becky were united in marriage, on March 31, 1988. They were junior high and high school sweethearts. They found their way back together after many years apart. He enjoyed taking Becky crappie fishing any chance he could and competed to see who could catch the most fish.

Jerry was a proud Dad of his sons, Brad and Brett. He coached Brad in baseball for a season and watched him excel while playing in college. Jerry also coached Brett during his elementary years of baseball, then spent Brett's high school and college years cheering for him from the bleachers.

He had an outgoing personality, never met a stranger, and had some of the funniest sayings and sarcastic remarks.

He leaves behind his wife of 37 years Becky (Gladden), son Brad (Callie) of Miami, son Brett (Emily) of Neosho, MO, grandchildren Karina, Ace, Drake, and Lorraine, his sister Mary Lou Broyles (Bob) of Lakewood CA, his niece Sandy Hindman (Craig) of La Mirada CA, and many other much loved relatives and friends.
