Josh Wright

(From Knell Mortuary)

Joshua Paul Wright, 45, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Barton County, Missouri. Born in Carthage, Missouri, on September 18, 1979, to Tammy Spry, Josh’s life was a beautiful testament to love, laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone he met.

Josh attended Carthage High School and later continued his education at Missouri Southern State University. He was a familiar and beloved face in his community as a dedicated route delivery driver, a role he carried out with pride and care. His warm smile and friendly demeanor turned his daily routes into opportunities to build lasting friendships, leaving a positive mark on countless lives.

On September 18, 2015, Josh married the love of his life, Ashley Hall, in Joplin, Missouri. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Josh’s greatest joy was his family—his wife, Ashley, and three daughters: Morgan Wright, Chanley Wright, and Timbur Pappacoda. And let’s not forget their beloved dog Harper. He was a devoted husband and father, always making time for family adventures, game nights, and heartfelt moments that will be cherished forever.

Josh lived life with an infectious enthusiasm that inspired everyone around him. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and cruising in his Jeep, embracing the freedom of the open road. He had a knack for fixing things and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like playing Candy Crush. He cherished spending time with his loved ones, creating memories filled with laughter and love. He was also a supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed karaoke, where his renditions of popular songs brought laughter and joy to every gathering. But above all, Josh will be remembered for his signature catchphrase, *“Best day ever!” *—a phrase that encapsulated his optimistic outlook and his ability to find joy in even the smallest moments. Now, whenever we hear those words, we’ll think of Josh and the light he brought into our lives.

Josh is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Wright; his daughters, Morgan Wright, Chanley Wright, and Timbur Pappacoda; his sister, Tiffany Button, his mother, Tammy Shields; his stepfather, Justin Shields. He also leaves behind a wide circle of family and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Josh’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and living each day to the fullest. Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit lives on forever. Rest in peace, dear Josh. Today, tomorrow, and every day after, we’ll strive to make it the *“best day ever!” * in your honor.

A celebration of Josh’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. Online condolences may be shared at www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
