(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Robert “Bob” Ira Dutton, age 76 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Tuesday February 4, 2025, at his home.
He was born July 3, 1948, in Yates Center, Kansas, grew up in Erie, Kansas, however spent most of his adult life in Pittsburg, Kansas.
After high school Robert proudly served in the United States Navy for 6 years. During that time, he was
on the USS Princeton and part of the Apollo Recovery Mission. Besides being a huge Chiefs and KC
Athletics/KC Royals fan, he also enjoyed playing darts, cat fishing, watching westerns, and playing pool at the local legion.
He is survived by one son, Matthew Dutton, Cherokee, Kansas, one daughter, Lindsay (Mike Burney)
Altheide, Joplin, Missouri; one sister Gail (James) Burns, Mindenmines, Missouri; Nine grandchildren,
Brittney (Devin) Linn, Jeremy Dutton, Dylan Altheide, Peyton Altheide, Remi Dutton, Jace Dutton, Easton Burney, Jake Burney, and Harper Burney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Kenneth and Anna “Louise” Dutton; two siblings, Daniel
Dutton and Linda Dutton; and one great grandchild, Dawson Linn.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory Joplin,
Missouri.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
