Zach Barber

Zachery Bradley Barber, 24, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday, February 9th, 2025 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana where he was stationed.

He was born December 18, 2000, the son of Joseph and Stephanie (Thompson) Barber. He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 2019. While in high school, he also completed his welding degree from Ft. Scott Community College. Zach loved to wrestle in high school and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, extending a lending hand to anyone who was in need.








Following high school, at the age of 17, Zach joined the United States Army, where he served as an IT for Security Coms and Communication. Zach was recently promoted to Staff Sergeant.

On October 21, 2022, he was united in marriage to Gracey Eilts at Miami, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his wife, Gracey Barber and their dog, Luna of Bella Chase, Louisiana; his parents, Joseph and Stephanie Barber of Pittsburg; a brother, Colton Barber of Pittsburg; maternal grandparents, Wendy Miller and Mark Miller, both of Pittsburg; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.








He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dorothy Stone, and Tony Barber; and his best friend, Tyler Watson.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025 at the Brenner Mortuary with Chaplain Pete Mayo, officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the New Pleasant Cemetery, southeast of Scammon. Flowers may be sent to Brenner Mortuary.
