George Kirk

George Ray Kirk, 86, of Granby, Missouri, passed away on February 23, 2025. He was born in Tipton, Oklahoma, on August 4, 1938, to Daniel and Augusta (Albright) Kirk.

George married Bettie Louise Frasier on June 12, 1957, and she preceded him in death. For 65 years, they shared a life full of love and memories. George was a longtime member and deacon of Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Stella, Missouri, where he found comfort in his faith and community.








After a successful career in the water and wastewater industry, George retired, having dedicated many years to the field. He also spent over 20 years teaching about water and wastewater at Crowder College, leaving a lasting impact on his students. In his personal life, George enjoyed golfing, flower gardening, and landscaping, hobbies that brought him joy and allowed him to connect with nature.

One of George’s greatest joys was helping all of his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them, offering guidance, wisdom, and a caring hand in all that they did. He was his grandkids' biggest fan, always cheering them on at their sports events. George took great pride in attending games at East Newton, where he could be found supporting his family and enjoying the community atmosphere.

George is survived by his children: Sandy (Randy) McFarland of Washburn, MO, Bud Kirk and fiancée Tangi of Grove, OK, and Katy Tatum of Granby, MO. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Jacob (Jennifer) McFarland, Emily (Kevin) Styles, Annie (Dennis) Messina, Jenni Kirk, Allison Kirk, Bryson Hounschell, and Stacey Stinebaugh, as well as several great and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to his life. He is also survived by one brother, Steve Kirk of Odessa, Texas.








He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Louise, his parents, Daniel and Augusta Kirk, and by four brothers and four sisters.

A visitation will be held on February 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Clark Funeral Home - Granby Chapel. The funeral service will take place on February 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Stella, MO. Brad White will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Jones Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 27048 Quince Rd, Stella, MO 64867.
