(From Knell Mortuary)Linda S. Rusk, a lifelong resident of Carthage, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 5, 1953, the daughter of the late Ivan Martin and Mary M. (White) Brandenburg.
Linda was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and thoughtful nature. She was a proud graduate of Carthage High School, class of 1971.
Linda married Stephen Rusk on August 31, 1973, in Carterville, Missouri, he preceded her in death on August 31, 2011. Linda applied her meticulous skills as a seamstress for Justin Boots and Big Smith. Linda also dedicated over three decades of service to Wal-Mart, becoming a cherished member of the community. Linda's passions encompassed a love for reading, sewing, and embroidering. She was a skilled cook, a nurturing gardener, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Royals and Chiefs. Her presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew her.
She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Samantha Rusk and her devoted boyfriend, Mark Porter, and a brother-in-law, Jim Rusk, and wife Louise of Florissant, Missouri. Linda's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the lives of those who loved her.
Memorial services will be held at 6 pm Friday February 28, 2025, at Knell Mortuary. Private family inurnment will be held at Park Cemetery at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
