Lanny Peavler

Lanny Grover Peavler, 78, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Joplin Gardens in Joplin, Missouri after a lengthy illness.

Lanny was born on August 3, 1946, in Monett, Missouri. He was a lifetime resident of Joplin. He was a Pipe Fitter in the Pipeline industry before retiring in 2007. He was also in the Masonry business.

He was of the Christian faith.








He was a member of the Pipeliners Union # 798. He thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids, bingo, working, and watching football.

He married Virginia Gunlock on November 12, 1966, in Webb City, Missouri and she preceded him in death on August 20, 2014.

Survivors include, two daughters; Kelly Peavler and Dawn Woods both of Joplin, Missouri, one brother; JD Chandler of California, three sisters; Joy Martin and Peggy King both of Joplin, Missouri and Nancy Helm Sargent of Baxter Springs, Kansas, five grandchildren; Deedria Woods of Pittsburg, Kansas, Cedric Woods of Joplin, Missouri, Trayquan Peavler of Joplin, Missouri, Keshawn Peavler of Joplin, Missouri, and Kieara Peavler of Joplin, Missouri, one Great Grandchild; Adrian Woods of Pittsburg, Kansas.








He was preceded in death by one son; Lanny Grover Peavler II, his parents; Grover Ervin and Mable Rose Howerton Peavler, and one sister; Patty Youngblood.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Interment of his cremains will be at Osborne Memorial Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
