(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Jennifer L. Bennett, 52, of Parsons, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her home in Parsons.
She was born on April 17, 1972, in Lawrence, Kansas to Charles R. “Chuck” Spellman and Carol Ann “Kelly” (Wheeler) Perry.
Jennifer grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons schools graduating from Parsons High School in 1990 and then attended Pittsburg State University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in social work.
Jennifer worked community corrections in Chanute until 2001. She then went to work for Court Services in Parsons where she was currently employed.
She enjoyed reading, arts and crafts, family game nights, and spending time outdoors. She cherished her children and grandchildren. She and Jason Bennett were married and they later divorced.
Jennifer is survived by her son, Seth Bennett, and Kaycee Gowens of Parsons; her daughter, Hayden Bennett of Pittsburg; her grandchildren, Jaxon Bennett and Kamryn Brown; her stepmother, Pam Cress of the Big Hill Lake area; her sister, Stacy Braman, and her husband, Wes of Joplin, MO; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Kelly Perry; her father, Chuck Spellman; and her brother, Matt Spellman.
A celebration of life for Jennifer will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Wall Family Center.
