Leigh Clayton

Leigh Gregory Clayton, age 61, of Knob Noster, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, in Lamar, Missouri. He was born on July 15, 1963, in Toms River, NJ to Horace Leigh Clayton and Janet Denise Zeilstra.

Leigh was known for his devious sense of humor, his deep loyalty to family and friends, and for always lending a hand wherever needed.

Leigh dedicated his life to sowing the seeds for a beautiful future and the promise that future held. Leigh was a big presence in everyone's lives he touched. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will never be forgotten.








Leigh is survived by his spouse, Jamie White; two stepdaughters, Marissa Tackett of Knob Noster, MO, and Aubrie White of Goodyear, AZ; four grandchildren; Kayla Tackett, Emily Tackett, Lucas Reed, and Nicholas Reed; brother, Harry Clayton of Port Charlotte, FL, and sister, Debbie Lee of Grayslake, IL, two nieces and two nephews, as well as many beloved friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved dogs Bytor, Cookie, Trixie, Buddha, Sammy and Tilly. Stella, his faithful trucking dog, went to heaven with Leigh.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, Missouri. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm with Marquesa Lindsey officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his memory.








In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Old Drum Animal Shelter, 35 SW 101st Rd, Warrensburg, Missouri 64093.

Leigh's legacy of leadership, his extreme generosity to everyone, his strength of character and huge heart will continue to live on in all of us who knew him and loved him dearly.
