(From Clark Funeral Home)Emily Ann Hersey, age 86, of Granby, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1939, in Cushing, Oklahoma, to George Neill and Margaret Ann (Waldon) Glenister. Emily graduated with honors from Neosho High School in 1957, where she showed early promise in both academics and music.
On August 17, 1957, Emily married the love of her life, Carroll Eugene Hersey, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2012. Together, they built a loving family and shared many happy years. Emily was a dedicated mother, a talented musician, and a skilled businesswoman. She ran her own sewing and alteration shop in Neosho for several years, where her craftsmanship was known and appreciated by many in the community.
Emily was also a gifted flutist, earning 1st place in Missouri competitions for several years. Her musical talent was a cherished part of her life, and she was proud to be a member of the Church of Christ.
Emily is survived by her children, David Hersey of Granby and Carol (Mark) Eads of Granby; her grandchildren, Lacy Wagner, David Hersey, Victoria Williams, and Dylan Bieber; and her great-grandchildren, Braydon Barbre, Braxton Barbre, and Dianna Hersey. Emily's warm presence and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a memorial service at 10:30 AM at Clark Funeral Home - Granby Chapel. Bobby Stafford will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gentiva Hospice, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, Missouri 64850.
Burial will be at Granby Memorial Cemetery.
