Donna Cupp

Donna Jean Powell-Cupp, age 80, Diamond, MO, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at her home.

Donna was born April 3, 1944 in Carthage, MO, daughter of the late Sgt. John Cody, Jr. and Loeda (Chrisman) Cody. She grew up following her father’s military service and spent time in Japan and Germany among other places the family lived during his career. She worked for years as a secretary for different companies over the years, and was office manager for Roadrunner Sales for years, and retired from Freeman Health Systems OccuMed in 2006.

Donna loved working on arts and crafts, and was known for her woodworking skills which she enjoyed doing for years. She was known to go to the Third Thursday Downtown Joplin Alliance on Main Street in Joplin many times. She also traveled for years with her husband taking camping trips in their RV. She loved spending time with family and will be missed by many.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a sister, Jodi, and a brother, Terry.

Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Gene Cupp; daughters, Debbie Lucas (Danny) of Newport, VA, and Karen Cox of Carthage, MO; grandchildren, Sarah Malinowski of Baltimore, MD, Josh Rosendale of Kansas City, MO, and Reese Cox of Carthage, MO; brother Alan Cody (Jody) of Florida; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with family holding memorial services at a later date.
