(From Parker Mortuary)Robert “Bob” Payne, age 79, a longtime resident of Miami, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 in his home surrounded by loved ones.
Bob was born on June 11, 1945 in Rocky Comfort, Missouri to Deward “Dee” Payne and Ruth Payne. He was a livestock equipment salesman for 30 years and later was the owner/operator of B Secure Storm Shelters up until he passed on the be with the Lord. Bob enjoyed raising horses and cattle. He trained a multitude of horses from teamsters to saddle horses. He loved to explore Canada and the U.S. trail riding with friends and family.
He and his companion, Delores Vandergrift, had traveled through 18 states and visited Canada twice within the last five years. He was a beloved friend, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Bob was preceded in passing by his parents Deward “Dee” and Ruth Payne, and his sister, Barbara Brower.
He is survived by his son, Wade Payne (Joyce), daughter Regina Barton (Chuck); four grandchildren, Cheyanna Crane (Coy), Justin Payne (Vanessa), Samantha Mitchell (Cooper), and Sierra Reynolds (Dustin); great-grandchild, Camryn Crane; Bob is also survived by his companion and caregiver Delores Vandergrift, as well as many great friends.
