(From Parker Mortuary)Samir Fahmy, age 68, Joplin, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at his home.
Samir was born June 14, 1956 in Alexandria, Egypt, son of the late Mostafa Fahmy and Clara Manzer Hedwich Jacob. His preschool years were spent in Switzerland and his education continued in Cairo, Egypt. He then graduated from the Egyptian Air Force Academy with a degree in Aviation and Aeronautical Science. He was an F-16 Fighter Pilot for the EAF for many years before becoming a Flight Instructor for the EAF.
He worked as a Currency Exchange Broker for some time before coming to the United States in 2001. He worked in retail before opening the Eye Clinic at the VA in Mount Vernon, MO. Serving our veterans for over 10 years.
He was of the Muslim faith and dedicated to his family. He will be missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son Mahmoud and four brothers.

He is survived by his wife Brenda, daughters Marwa and Yasmine, and two grandchildren, Nadia and Zein. Four sisters Amal, Iman, Mina, and Ola, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Jared Young officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
