(From Clark Funeral Home)On December 20, 2025, Bjorg Marit Dubois aka. "THE COOKIE LADY" entered eternity to celebrate the holiday season with her Lord and Savior. Her generosity, smile, and warm heart will always be remembered by her family, friends, and all those she impacted throughout her life.
Born in Bergen, Norway, in 1936, Bjorg grew up during a time of unrest with World War 2 beginning in 1939, but she found great joy in riding her bike in the mountains. Routinely she would also tell a childhood story of a bowl of oatmeal flying out the window one morning during a bombing of Bergen harbor.
In 1951, she and her mother made their way to the United States settling in Sioux Rapids, Iowa, where she would eventually meet her future husband William "Bill" Alva Dubois. Married on January 8, 1956, Bill and Bjorg built a life and family together. They gave birth to their daughter, Kathy Denise Dubois, and two sons, Scott Alan Dubois and Marc Owen Dubois; and would go on to adopt their great-granddaughter, Kayla. Over the years they called many places home; but none held her heart quite like Neosho, MO.
She held many titles over the years, from a popcorn girl at a movie theater, to a ballet instructor, to a housewife, stay at home mom, and strong supporter of all her husband's hobbies and interests; especially when it came to showing horses, but the title she held most dear was the title many will remember her by "THE COOKIE LADY."

After years of being a stay at home mom, Bill encouraged Bjorg to find a job that still allowed her to be at home while their youngest son Marc was at home; thus, the school system seemed like the best option. She will always credit her position to Mrs. Campbell who saw her and told her husband she believed Bjorg should be hired.
Bjorg always said she could fill a book with all the stories she'd heard over the years, and after 40 years of service her family always knew she could. It was very rare for Bjorg to walk into Walmart and not have at least two different people stop her to tell her how they remembered her from their time as a student, or fellow faculty member. Her family will tell you even if she didn't remember your name, she would always remember your face, and even if not, she'd still treat you like she'd known you for years.
While COVID may have led to her retirement, her love and concern for the kids didn't end in retirement, she constantly would make comments like; "I wonder what that kid is up to these days." To quote an article from years ago, Bjorg said that her absolute favorite part of the job was the kids themselves. Which is why it comes as no surprise that she had a yearbook dedicated to her not just once but twice. Her time as "THE COOKIE LADY" held some of her fondest memories outside of her children and family.
If not in the school kitchen breaking apart chocolate chip cookies, she could be found shopping with her daughters, reading a good mystery, walking at the fish hatchery, out in the horse barn, or even on a trip back to Norway. Over the years she would return to Norway a total of 6 times, and even would take her husband Bill, her son Marc, and her grandson Brett with her on different occasions. Her love for her Norwegian heritage was vast. Even up until the end she retained the language she grew up speaking and even was able to share her love of the Norwegian language with her son Marc who picked it up on their travels.
Bjorg was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William Dubois; her mother Dagny Selfors; her mother and father in-law; and her son Scott Dubois. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Dubois; her son Marc Dubois; her daughter Kayla Dubois Fricker and husband Gabriel; her grandson Brett Dubois; her granddaughter Crystal; five great-grandchildren, Michael, Graham, Deacon, Carson, and Logan; and one great-great grandson Christian.
Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, December 29, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Neosho, Missouri. Visitation will immediately follow, also at First Christian Church. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
Services are under the personal care and direction of Clark Funeral Homes.
