(From Paul Thomas Funeral Home)Penny Sue Baker of Commerce, OK passed from this life Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Ascension St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. She was 64.
Penny was born June 15, 1961 in Joplin, MO to William Lee Baker and Dorothy Faye Smith. Penny had lived in Commerce for over a year moving from Joplin, MO and had lived in Sarcoxie, MO. She graduated from Seneca High School class of 1979 and from N.E.O. A&M College in Miami, OK. She was a Registered Nurse working for Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO, St. John’s Hospital in Joplin, MO and Regional Surgery Center in Joplin, MO.
Penny is survived by 1 son, Travis Baker and wife Klarissa of Commerce, OK, 1 brother, Michael Baker of Joplin, MO, 3 sisters, Jackie Mitchell of Joplin, MO, Sharon Rogers of Carl Junction, MO and Wendy Smith of Cabot, AR and 3 grandchildren, Paislee Sanders, Ayzlen Buxton and Kohlier Baker.
