Tammy Shelton

Tammy Kay Shelton, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her home in Wentworth, MO. She was born in Arkansas on Sunday, November 1, 1959; daughter of James "Jim" McCool and Patsy (Powell) Byrd. She married Mark Shelton on November 19, 1995, in Miami, OK. 

Tammy was a production worker for EFCO in Monett, MO for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, and completing word puzzles. She liked being outside on their land and always looked forward to spending time with her family. She often stayed in touch by texting and calling them. Tammy cherished time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by many! 








Her family included her husband, Mark of the home; one son, William Edwards of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Angela (Ty) Tummons of Katy, TX; seven grandchildren; her parents, Jim McCool and Patsy Byrd; two brothers, Jeff McCool and James "Corky" McCool; and nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by friends.

Tammy has been cremated at her request. No services are planned at this time. A private burial will occur later where Tammy will be placed next to her grandparents in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
