(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Rayma Sherrel Higginson (Walker), known to family and friends as Sherrel, age 85, of Granby Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on December 29, 2025.
Sherrel was born on November 11, 1940, in Nampa Idaho, to Clive and Ardeth Walker.
She was a woman of quiet creativity and deep faith. Sherrel loved needlework, knitting, and reading, finding fulfillment in creating with her hands and giving her creations to those she loved. She was a long-time, active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where her faith guided her life and relationships.
On November 20, 1959, she married John Dennis Higginson in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They shared many years together until Dennis died in 2012. Together, they raised four children - three sons and a daughter.
Sherrel is now reunited with several of her loved ones, including her husband Dennis Higginson: her sons Kevin and Kim Daniel; her daughter Rachelle Higginson; her brothers Laird Walker and Jolly Walker; and sister Kathleen Condie.
She is survived by a large and loving family spread across the United States, many of whom now reside in Idaho and Utah.
Throughout her life she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and eventually great grandmother. Her legacy will continue with 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and counting, who will all miss her dearly.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Cloverdale Memorial Park in Boise, Idaho.
