Leta Faye Kelton of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Aurora, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. She was born February 9, 1938, in Kelseyville, California, the daughter of John Ross and Jessie Thelma (Grimmett) Williams. She grew up and attended school in Aurora.
On December 25, 1954, she married Clyde Kelton in Aurora, Missouri. Clyde was in the Air Force, and they spent the next 20 years stationed in various places in the U.S. and Europe. They had two daughters, Debbie was born in 1957, and Denise was born in 1962. When Clyde retired in 1975, they moved back to their hometown of Aurora, Missouri.Leta was a convenience store manager for Fastrip for many years. Leta was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and would either be listening to the radio or watching Cardinal games on TV. Once she moved to Wichita, Kansas, she enjoyed attending the minor league Wichita Wind Surge games.
Leta is survived by her daughter, Denise Bunn and her husband, Kevin; her nieces, Vicki Black and Judy Chavez and her nephew, Johnny Langwell.
Leta was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde on January 30, 1994, and her son-in-law, Floyd White on November 16, 2012, and her daughter, Debbie White on January 1, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, with burial to follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in care of the funeral home.
