(From Knell Mortuary)Tracy Michelle Petross, 53, Sarcoxie, Missouri, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. She was born on January 3, 1972, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, the daughter of Brenda (McBeth) Petross and Marshall Petross. Tracy's life was a testament to the courage and warmth that defined her every action.
She grew up in Sulphur, where her vibrant spirit and infectious laughter filled the family home. Tracy's educational journey began at Sulphur High School, where she earned her GED before continuing her studies at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Her pursuit of knowledge was driven by a deep curiosity and a desire to engage fully with the world around her.
A woman of many passions, Tracy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid pool player, her strategic mind and steady hand making her a formidable opponent. Tracy's love for technology was evident in her enthusiasm for computer and video games, which she approached with the same zest and dedication she applied to every aspect of her life.
Reading was another of Tracy's favorite pastimes, providing her with endless hours of adventure and reflection. Family gatherings were always brighter with Tracy's presence. She was the life of the party, whether she was challenging her loved ones to a spirited game of Mexican Train Dominoes or sharing stories that would leave everyone in stitches.
Tracy's love for her family was her guiding star, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Tracy's generosity knew no bounds. Her annual contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital reflected her compassionate heart and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
Survivors include her parents, Brenda and Marshall Petross; her sisters, Katrina Watson, and her children, Brandon, Shayna, and Breanna Watson; and Kristi Dixon (husband Jeff), and their children, Alex and Austin Dixon; her cousins, Johnny McBeth and Jennifer Paulk; her uncle, John McBeth; and many extended family members and friends.
