Carla Brashear

Carla Lee Brashear, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Bentonville, Arkansas. Born on November 6, 1936, in Pineville, Missouri, Carla lived her life with compassion and unwavering support for her loved ones. She left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.


Carla's early years were spent in the small town of Pineville, where she was nurtured by her parents, Walter and Dorothy (Mickelson) Smith. She blossomed into a brilliant student, graduating from Pineville High School before continuing her education at Junior College in Joplin, Missouri. Her passion for learning propelled her to SMS College in Springfield, Missouri, where she earned her master's degree. It was there that she met the love of her life, Donald Layne Brashear. The couple tied the knot in 1957 in their hometown of Pineville, beginning a journey filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.








Carla's life was a testament to her loving nature. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her devoted husband Don, and her dear sister, Alois Kennedy. Her legacy continues through her children, Andy Brashear (Terri) of Jay, Oklahoma, Kimberly Dawn DesAutels (Marc) of Lanagan, Missouri, and Kelly Walters (Shane) of Rogers, Arkansas. Her grandchildren, April Wright, Hayley Spencer, Dusty Brashear, Kelsey Martinez, Ceara Fair, Jordan Desautels, Zachary DesAutels, Seth Walters, and Layne Meloy, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ripley, Rainy, Renn, Charlotte, Kenadee, Jaxon, Landyn, Mikaela, June, Nash, Ellis, Finn, and Murphy, will forever be guided by her wisdom and love.


Carla's interests were a reflection of her inner warmth. She found great joy in quilting, creating beautiful patterns that will be treasured for generations. Her love for mystery novels was well-known, as she often could be found engrossed in a captivating story. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, understanding that "The love of a family is life's greatest blessing."









Carla Lee Brashear's journey on this earth may have ended, but her spirit will continue to inspire those she left behind. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons will be remembered, and her love will be the guiding light for her family and friends. May she rest in peace, knowing that her time here was spent making the world a better place, one kind act at a time.


The family will have a private ceremony to celebrate and share memories. Her final resting place will be in the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville, Missouri.
