(From Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home)Roger Dale Weist passed away on Monday, March 9th, 2026, at his home in Sarcoxie, Mo surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. Roger was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 21, 1955, to Dale and Ollie Herron.
Roger was proceeded in death by his father, Dale Herron, his mother, Ollie Weist, stepfather, Paul Weist, and sister Dianna Davidson.
Roger is survived by Debi Maggard, his partner in life of thirty years. He is also survived by his sister, MaryAnn Weise of Kentucky, Bonnie Wood of Alabama, William B. Wood (Frances) of Kansas, Patricia Wade of West Virginia, Teresa Hayes (Albert) of Sarcoxie, MO, and David (Sarah) of Weist of Ohio.
Surviving children are Roger (Jeanne) Weist, Ohio, Michael (Ginette) Weist of Joplin, Brandy Weist of Sarcoxie, Wes (Jennifer) Weist of Ohio and Jennifer (Steve) Faucett of Miller. Bonus children, Jason Gass of Sarcoxie and Will Copeland of Jane. Roger is survived by twenty-four grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews, family and friends as well as his best friend Dana INK Reynolds.
Roger worked in the trucking industry over 40 years driving, dispatching and working as a diesel mechanic. Roger enjoyed fishing, family gatherings, playing poker and canasta. He continued to help fix trucks over the phone after his retirement.

A Celebration of Life will be April 18th starting at 3:00 p.m. at the Gene Taylor Community Building at 218 N. 5th Street in Sarcoxie, MO. Friends and family are welcome to visit the family at 1103 Joplin Street in Sarcoxie.
