(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Charles Kenney, age 91, passed away on March 7, 2026 in Joplin, Missouri.
Charles was born on August 9, 1934 to the union of Claude and Mildred (Mahan) Kenney in Stella, Missouri. He was a graduate of Rocky Comfort High School in 1952. After graduation he served in the military for two years. After his service in the Army he was employed with Eagle Picher Industries for 39 years before his retirement.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Kriss Harris, Cherie Baker (Bob) and four grandchildren; Brady (Carol) Baker, Erin (Garrett) Taylor, Zachary (Alexa) Harris, and Seth (Natalie) Harris; nine great grandchildren, Abigail, Camryn, Ethan, Natalee, Ty, Weston, Sophia, Olivia, and Foster; one great, great grandchild, Greyson. Charles is also survived by three brothers; Ronnie, Stanley, and Jerry Dale Kenney, two sisters; Janice Shewmake and Debbie Kenney, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was married to Deanna Kenney in 1966 and they were married for 53 years until her passing in 2019. Additionally, he was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen Clapper and his son, Gary Frazier.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, March 23, 2026 at 10:00am. A visitation with the family will follow immediately after the graveside service at the daughter’s home at 2727 N. Park Ave, Joplin, MO.
