(From Ferry Funeral Home)Ronald Lee Newton, 72, of Richards, MO, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO. Ron was born May 24, 1953, in Nevada to Willie Junior and Marjorie (Warner) Newton. He married Sharon Stone on June 17, 2023, and she survives of the home.
Ron was raised in Vernon County and graduated from Walker High School. Throughout his adult life, he worked as a truck driver for Johnson-Baker Trucking for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding horses, raising rabbits, and farming, and he especially loved fishing.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, survivors include his three children, Tracy Byram (Ashley) of Nevada, Crystal Stone of Stockton, and Rachel Stone of Joplin; five grandchildren, Meadow Slate, Leah Byram, Donna Byram, Tracey Byram, Garrett Byram, and Daven Newton; one great-grandchild, Eli; a sister, Cathy Beisley; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Justin Byram; siblings, Donna Hobbs, Billy Wayne Newton, Jackie Paul Newton, and Cynthia Caviness; and a grandson, Braxton Newton.
You may be gone from our sight, but you will always remain in our hearts.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Delena Grant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family c/o Ferry Funeral Home.
