(From Parker Mortuary)Kyle Lee McCaslan, a beacon of warmth and generosity, passed away on March 11, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri at the age of 53, after a brief illness. Born on March 6, 1973, in Shattuck, Oklahoma, Kyle's early years were filled with the rich, red soil of his birthplace, which grounded him in values of love and community that he carried throughout his life.
Kyle's journey was one marked by the love of his family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, William McCaslan, and his mother, Virginia Pratt-McCaslan, who instilled in him the virtues of kindness and compassion. His life was further enriched by his devoted spouse of 21 years, Les Rinehart, who stood by him as a partner and confidant. Kyle's brother, Kenneth McCaslan of Yale, OK, and his recently deceased sister, Vickie Hardaway of Canyon, TX, both shared not only a childhood with Kyle but also an unbreakable bond that only siblings know. His niece, Nicole Johnston, and her husband, David, of Canyon, TX, held a special place in his heart, as did the numerous friends who were drawn to his friendly spirit, charming personality and sense of humor.
Kyle's passion for education was evident in his commitment to the students of Northeast Oklahoma. After graduating in Oklahoma and pursuing general studies, he dedicated many years as a teacher's aide and substitute teacher. His natural ability to connect with students and his love for teaching left a lasting impact on the many lives he touched.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 1:00 -3:00 pm at Parker Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri. A private burial will take place at a later date at Missouri Veterans’ Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Funeral services are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
