(From Parker Mortuary)David Herman Elledge, Jr., age 72, passed away on March 5, 2026, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born on July 13, 1953, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to the late David Elledge, Sr. and Rita (Babione) Elledge.
David was the proud owner and operator of The Kar Shoppe, a place that was more than just a business to him; it was a hub of community and friendship. His passion for cars extended beyond the walls of his shop. He was an avid builder and tinkerer of hot rods, a hobby that earned him respect and admiration in the automotive community. David's love for speed and competition found an outlet in drag racing, and he was a dedicated fan of NASCAR.
Those who knew David will remember him for his big heart. He was a man who found joy in doing for others, always ready to lend a hand or share his expertise. His generosity was as boundless as his knowledge of cars.
David's friends were his family, and his family were his friends. He cherished the bonds he formed over the years, and his absence will leave a void in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, his wisdom, and his unwavering support were the hallmarks of his character.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon Elledge; children, Shannon Hicks (Parry) and Lacy Cruz (Nathan); granddaughters, Mayson Ogle (Christian) and Paisley Hicks; great-granddaughter, Lakeyn Lewis Ogle; and his two loyal companions, Jax and Gemma.
