(From Parker Mortuary)Jessi Jessen, age 66, of Joplin, MO, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
Jessi was born July 6, 1959 in Elkhart, IN to the late union of Joseph and Myrna (Wilhelm) Jessen. She spent most of her childhood in the Baxter Springs area, where she graduated from Baxter Springs High School. She then moved to Joplin 1984.
She was a movie enthusiast at heart, cherished the fine arts of creating crafts, and listening to the soft composures of Mozart. Jessi was also an avid reader and always had a book in hand. She was extremely family oriented and loved the simple times spent with family around the table. She also enjoyed her quiet times at home creating exquisite puzzles in her spare time.
Jessi is survived by her sister, Patricia “Tricia” Church-Unkenholz and husband, Don, of Joplin; three nieces, Kristina “Kris” Church, of Joplin, Julia Church, of Joplin, and Tracy Carpenter, of Webb City; one nephew, Robert Church, of Joplin; and a host of extended family and friends.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
