(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Anna Marie McKinzie, age 62 of Joplin, passed away unexpectedly at her home on the morning of May 4, 2026.
Anna was born on November 23, 1963 to the union of Melvin Ray McKinzie and Colleen Joyce (Johnston) McKinzie. She had lived in the Galena and Joplin area all of her life, and had previously worked in the nutrition department of Barker's Rest Home in Galena before its closure. She was known by the family to be ornery, and certainly was not afraid to speak her mind. You could often find her working on puzzles, playing electronic games on her phone, and visiting the local casinos.
She is survived by her husband, Tim Crawford; one son, Melvin Dardenne (wife, Jenna) of Galena, KS; one daughter, Lisa Farrell (husband, Monty) of Baxter Springs, KS; four grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Macey, and Daniella; one sister, Georgia McKinzie of Galena; one brother, Ben McKinzie of Galena; a very special friend, Kim Olds; and her service dog, "Frisco".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Colleen; and one brother, Kevin McKinzie.
Ms. McKinzie has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will host a private memorial service at a later date.
