(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Melody Ann Holden, age 67 of Galena, passed away at 1:18 AM on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 after ongoing health complications from a car accident in late 2025.
Melody was born in Spokane, WA on November 26, 1958 to the union of Jack Robinson and Betty (Jones) Robinson. She graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1977. She was a lifelong resident of the Galena area, and worked in the housekeeping department of the Ramada Inn in Joplin, MO.
Survivors include one daughter, Brandy Hubbard of Galena; her brother, Freddy Robinson of Galena; her sister, Rita Chew of Miami, OK; four nieces, Samantha and Addison, Desiree Clark, and Brittany Chadwick; two nephews, Zachary Robinson and Joshua Clark; and many great-nieces and nephews. Her family was very special to her. The family wants to acknowledge Jackie Sofia, Cheryl Robinson, and Shantel Robinson for the countless hours of care they helped provide to Ms. Holden, as well as the Spring Grove Apostolic Faith Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Betty Robinson; one sister-in-law, Jana Robinson.
Ms. Holden has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will host a memorial service at a later date.
