George “Russ” Russell Campbell of Miami, OK passed from this life Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Integris Miami Hospital in Miami, OK. He was 77.

Russ was born June 4, 1948 in Miami, OK to George Thomas Laverne and Lillie Mae (Gurley) Campbell. He had lived in Miami all his life and graduated from Miami High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Russ was a truck driver, driving for TDS Trucking in Joplin, MO and had worked as a security guard for Arrowhead Resort. He was a member of the GAP Church in Miami, OK , life member of the Miami Elks Lodge No. 1320 and served as Exalted Ruler two times, past member of BACA, member of American Legion Post No. 147 of Miami, OK and VFW Post of Miami, OK.

Russ was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Denzil Campbell.

Russ is survived by his wife Susie (Hicks) Campbell of the home, 1 daughter, Tammy Callahan and partner Jeff Lanspery of Sanford, FL, 2 brothers, Jack Campbell of Miami, OK and Bobby Campbell of Claremore, OK, 5 grandchildren, Drew Wright, Regan Lanspery, Rachel Lanspery, Asher Lanspery and Eden Lanspery and 1 great grandchild, Rhodes Oliver Wright.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Rev. Jim Land will officiate. Interment will be in NEO Memorial Veterans Cemetery in North Miami, OK. Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 147 Funeral Detail of Miami, OK. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK.
