Jack England, age 85, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Roaring River Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born September 5, 1931 at Exeter, Missouri the son of Loyd and Effie (Snelson) England. On November 27, 1957 he was united in marriage to Zona Hendrix in rural Wheaton. He received his education in Wheaton School. From 1950 until 1954 he served in the United States Navy. He had worked for Jumping Jack, Efco, Wheaton Tractor and Wheaton School. He was a charter member of the Wheaton Southern Baptist Church and a member and Past Master of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Zona of 59 years; one daughter, Tammy Haynes and her husband Kendall of Fairview, Missouri; two sons, C.L. England and his wife Donna and Mark England and his wife Lisa all of Wheaton, Missouri; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Foresteen England and an infant brother.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Tony Ball will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Rocky Comfort Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton.

Denise McConnell
Denise Faith McConnell was born on May 19th, 1951 at Great Falls Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. She left this earth on December 22nd, 2016 to join the Angel’s Choir.
Being the daughter of an educator, she lived in many small towns in Missouri, but she always called Carthage home. She was a 1971 graduate of Scotland County High School in Memphis, Missouri and Seymour Beauty Academy, Seymour, Missouri in 1972. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will leave an enormous hole in our hearts.
Denise was a skilled seamstress, serious collector of “Her Stuff”, and the best cook in Missouri. She loved her pets and spent many hours fostering orphaned newborn kittens and puppies for the Carthage Humane Society.
Denise was united in marriage with Darrell McConnell on May 5th, 1973 in Carthage. They were blessed with four children: Rachel McConnell, Jessica McConnell, Elisabeth (Tim) Snethen, and Richard (Steffanie) McConnell all of Carthage. Plus numerous “partly go” kids and grandkids.
Denise is survived by her husband Darrell, four children and nine grandchildren: Kristian McConnell, Heather Moorehouse, Landon McConnell, Jordan McConnell, Elijah Mazariegos, Isabelle Snethen, Jayden McConnell, Avery Snethen and Nicole Owens. Her parents Norman and Cleva Knight of Carthage. Two brothers Mark (Linda) Knight of Joplin, and Douglas (Glenda) Knight of Lamar. Also many many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends that she loved, and loved her in return.
The body has been sent for cremation and a celebration of her life is planned at a later date. The family asks that donations be made to the Carthage Humane Society in her name. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.

Helen E. Williams, 95, passed away December 24, 2016 at St Luke’s Nursing center, Carthage, Missouri. Helen was born October 5, 1921 in Reeds, Missouri to William and Rachel (Patton) Poulson. Helen was a homemaker.
Helen was united in marriage to James R. Williams; he preceded her in death May 19, 2006.
Helen is survived by one daughter, Neva Williams of Kansas City, Missouri and two sons: Roy E. Williams and wife Carol of Carthage and Richard Williams. She is also survived by numerous grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons Jim L. Williams and Dewey F. Williams, and ten brothers and sisters. A private burial will be held at Park Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ulmer Funeral Home.

Linda Jane Smith, 73, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home in Jasper, Missouri. She was born on December 29, 1942 to Curtis Dave and Sylvia “Quinn” England in Manes, Missouri.
Linda was united in marriage to Harrel Smith on February 14, 1982 in Lawrence, Kansas. She worked for FEMA until 1984.
Linda is survived by Harrel, one son Paul Smith of Jasper, one step-son Loran Smith of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, one sister Norma “Imo” Richards of Marshfield, Missouri and one brother Donald England of Carthage.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, one son Charles Smith, three sisters: Wanda Alumbaugh, Wilda Zook and Delores “June” Thomas and four brothers: David England, Guy England, Bill England and Clyde England.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th at Friends Cemetery in Purcell, Missouri.

She was born October 11, 2016 in Aurora, Missouri. Mary Turner
Mary Lynne Turner, age 79 of Joplin, Mo passed away Sunday December 25, 2016 at the National Health Care Nursing Home Joplin, Mo.
She was born on January 11, 1937 in Joplin, Mo the daughter of E.O. and Virginia Humphrey.
Mary married Jack Turner on December 28, 1955 in Joplin, Mo, he preceded her in death on May 5, 1998. She was a loving mother raising her four children. Mary was also a loving wife and grandmother and enjoyed knitting, baking, sewing, crafts and dogs.
Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, and three siblings. She is survived by a son William Turner, three daughters: Lisa Stark and husband Tommy of Carl Junction, Mo, Melinda Lamoureaux and husband Guy of Joplin, Mo and Laura Ball and husband Roger of Joplin, two brothers Dick and Ross Humphrey, a sister Jeanie Jones, five grandchildren Jeramy Weekes, Justin Weekes, Landon Weekes Dereck Stark and wife Andrea and Aaron Turner, three great grandchildren Dillon and Dalton Weekes and Roman Turner with Dereck and Andrea Stark expecting another, lifelong friend from high school Elizabeth Kemm and good friend Sylvia Morse.
Funeral Service Will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday December 29, 2016 at the Southside Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory. Contributions may be given to Southside Baptist Church.

Rick McGuire
Richard Wayne McGuire, 42, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away unexpectedly at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2016, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS.
He was born April 22, 1974, at Harrisonville, MO, the son of Richard Lee McGuire and Rebecca Louise (Bennett) McGuire Tosh. On October 15, 2005, he was united in marriage to Casey Lowe in Bentonville, AR. She survives of the home. Rick was a larger than life person and always had a smile on his face. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making people laugh and was always willing lend a helping hand. Rick was an avid coin and clock collector and he loved to refinish antique furniture. He was a giving person even in death, as an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife Casey McGuire of Pittsburg, KS; two sons, Michael Parker and his wife Clarissa of Liberal, MO, and Trenton Thomas of Pittsburg, KS; two daughters, Courtney Elizabeth Douglas of Joplin, MO and Gabriella McGuire of Pittsburg, KS: his mother Rebecca Louise Tosh and her husband John of Pittsburg, KS; his father, Richard Lee McGuire of Pittsburg, KS; a brother Rodney Lee McGuire of Pittsburg, KS; mother and father-in-law Alvin and Nancy Lowe of Pittsburg, KS; brother in-law, Nathan Lowe and sister in-law Danielle Lowe of Pittsburg, KS, and his grandmother, Sue Tosh; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Judy Bennett, David Bennett, Wilma McGuire, and John F. Tosh.
