(From Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home)George David Fort, 89, Seneca, MO, passed away February 5, 2022 at his home in rural Seneca after a long illness.
George David Fort was born November 1, 1932 in Independence, Kansas the son of James and Sylvia (Frostad) Fort. George worked for the former Midwestern Machinery Co in Joplin as a machinist and was a farmer. He loved farming, deer hunting, camping, auctions, helping neighbors and spending time with his grandkids.
George David Fort married Opal Marie Callaway August 16, 1952 in Huntsville, AR and she preceded him in death September 13, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Glenn Fort and Collins Fort and one sister June Hart.
Survivors include three sons, David Fort and wife Earlene, Carterville, MO, James Fort and wife Debbie, Joplin, MO and Jeff Fort and wife Sandra, Seneca, MO; one daughter, Lisa Fort, Gladstone, OR; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild One brother Ben Fort and wife Terri, Joplin; one sister Silvia Keller, Seneca.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Carnes officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Matt Fort, Michael Fort, Marissa Fort, Jerrod Fort, Josh Fort and Micah Fort. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charity Lucas, Shawna Patrick
Serenity Fort and Zoey Mertens .
