(From Parker Mortuary) Vickie Marie Marcum, age 61, Asbury, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at her home.
Vickie was born August 17, 1960 in Joplin, daughter of the late Lloyd and Clara C. (Blanchard) Hobson. She grew up in Jasper where she graduated from High School before getting her Bachelors degree in Education from Missouri Southern State University.
She married Timothy Marcum in 1981, he survives. She worked as a teacher for several years, and was later employed as an electrician in this area. She was also a member of Christ's Community United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by a sister, Karol K. Owens.
In addition to Timothy, Vickie is survived by a son, Timothy J. Marcum and wife Aubrey of Joplin, daughters, Amy M. Buckner and husband Toby also of Joplin, and Crystal N. Emory of Asbury; grandchildren, Sterling Marcum, Paisley Marcum, Madison Buckner, Reagan Buckner, Ashton Pritchard, and Mya Pritchard; brother, Gary Hobson of Jasper; sisters, Adele Hobson of Joplin, Rita Miller and husband Webb of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Sondra Smith and husband Gary of Mindenmines, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 21, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ's Community United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Sloan officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.
Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenlawn Cemetery, Jasper, Missouri, with Pastor Bob Dart officiating.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Christ Community Church.
