(From Clark Funeral Home)Joan Malcom was born January 23, 1936 in Stella, Missouri, the daughter of Nick and Gertie (Pendleton) Maples. She entered into rest on February 12, 2022 in Miami, Oklahoma, at the age of 86.
Joan was a graduate of Neosho High School and lived in Neosho most of her life before moving to Miami to be near family. She was a homemaker and a military wife and a devout Christian and enjoyed Bible study. She enjoyed knitting as a pastime.
On August 28, 1953, near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Joan married Joe Bob Malcom and they shared 67 years before his death on April 11, 2021.
Joan is survived by four children, Mark Malcom and wife, Barbara of Grove, Oklahoma, Jeri Fulkerson and husband, Steve of Petersburg, Virginia, David Malcom and wife, Brenda of Dillwyn, Virginia and Larry Malcom and wife, Anna of Hopewell, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Steve, Michelle, Amy, Ashley, David, Mark, Emily and Maggie and ten great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Joe, she is preceded in death by her parents, Gertie and Nick Maples and brother, Charles Maples.
