Phillis Thomason

Charlette “Phillis” Thomason was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She fought cancer the last 16 years of her life with grace, dignity, courage, and complete faith and trust in God. Phillis passed away on February 26, 2022, at the age of 69.

Phillis was born to Roy and Mildred Robertson in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma on June 14, 1952. Phillis met the love of her life, Howard while attending High School in Caney, Kansas.








Phillis is survived by her husband of 51 years, Howard. Their two daughters and their husbands, Melissa and Jason Earl, Michelle and Brian Stearnes; six grandchildren, Brett Stearnes, Blake Stearnes, Paige Earl, Nicole Earl, Jaelyn Earl, Hunter Earl, and one great grandchild, Ryder Jene Kyle. She is also survived by her two Brothers, Glen Robertson and Phillip Robertson.

Phillis loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildrens’ activities. She was active in her church often doing things for others.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to, Dr. Anisa Hassan, Dr. Russell Kennedy and staff, as well as Compassus Hospice, (Chelsea, Kelli, Donna) Lamar, Missouri.

Those honoring her life serving as pallbearers are; Jason Earl, Brian Stearnes, Brett Stearnes, Blake Stearnes, Nichole Earl, Jaelyn Earl, and Hunter Earl. Honorary pallbearers are, Glen Robertson, and Phillip Robertson.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am Wednesday March 2, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Ken Parker officiating. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary Joplin, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to the Carthage Humane Society and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
