(From Parker Mortuary)Jonathan “Johnny” Layne Gulley, age 59, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Joplin Health and Rehabilitation.
Johnny was born on May 8, 1962 in Mount Sterling, KY to the union of Kenneth Sr. and Vicy (Glover) Gulley. He was the firstborn of triplets, with Jeff and Jim following.
Johnny was born with a disease that he battled with his whole life, but that didn’t stop him from singing along to some of his favorite religious songs. His two most loved songs were, "God is so Good to Me" and "It is No Secret (What God Can Do)". He grew up in Indiana before moving to Joplin when he was 10 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Wilson Gulley Sr.; and stepdad, Allen Ray Williamson.
Johnny is survived by his mother, Vicy Williamson; and four brothers, Ken Gulley (Tonya), Mark Gulley (Charlotte Hodge), Jeff Gulley, and Jim Gulley.
Cremation arrangements are under the special care and direction of Parker Mortuary.
