Warren Koogle

Warren S. Koogle, 93, of Parsons, died at 9:34 A.M., Wednesday, February 09, 2022 at the Elmhaven East Nursing Home.

He was born November 29, 1928 at Dodge City, KS, a son of John Henry and Hannah Mae (Catuski) Koogle. He grew up and attended school at Great Bend, graduating from the Great Bend High School in 1946. While he was in high school, he worked part-time at Star Cleaners the business his parents owned and operated. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Army. When he returned to Great Bend in 1964, he and his brother bought his parents’ business and continued to operate it together. In 1978, Warren moved to Parsons, purchasing Elam Cleaners. He and his wife operated it as Koogle’s Quality Cleaners until 1998.

On September 2, 1961 he was united in marriage to Mary Price in Great Bend.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons. He enjoyed visiting with people, playing cards and reading. In his younger years he liked to go boating, travelling and motorcycle riding.

Survivors Include: His wife, Mary Koogle, Parsons, KS; four daughters – Carolyn Swob, Great Bend, KS, Terri Sprenkle, Independence, KS, Jennifer Hurst, Parsons, KS, Rachel Koogle, Parsons, KS; ten grandchildren – Christopher Swob, Denver, CO, Benjamin Swob, Sioux City, IA, Sarah Cooper, Parsons, KS, Charles Cooper, Independence, KS, Thomas Cooper, Independence, KS, Taylor Bettles, Lawrence, KS, Shelby Bettles, Lawrence, KS, Kristina Good, Parsons, KS, Madison Walters, Joplin, MO, Nicholas Matthews, Parsons, KS; Many great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister – Ann Franklin and his brother – George Koogle, Sr..
