(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Robert P. Guarino, age 83, Joplin, Missouri passed away at his home Sunday March 26, 2023, following a short illness.
He was born November 14, 1939, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Harry and Lillian (Ludwig) Guarino.
Bob retired from Roper’s as the body shop manager. He was very involved with Villa Heights Christian Church where he served as a deacon. Bob served as a chaplain with Hospice Compassus as well as with CPMN prison ministry. He was a member of AF & AM 247 Neosho and Order of the Eastern Star Webb #204. He was also a member of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol and a Navy veteran.
He married Anna May White on December 7, 1962, in Neosho, Missouri and recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Bob is survived by his wife, one son, Robert Guarino and wife Jane; one daughter, Roberta Jessip and husband Mason; three sisters, Joyce Hunter, Vickie Randis, Joann Pry; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, as well numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday March 30, 2023, at Villa Heights Christian Church with Steve Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow at Burkhart Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 7:00 pm Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers contribution are requested to Villa Heights Christian Church and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
