(From Ozark Funeral Home)Gary Keith Rees, 76, of Granby, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Granby House in Granby, Missouri.
He was born on October 30, 1946 in Webb City, Missouri to the late, G. K. and Ruby Pearl (Nealy) Rees.
Gary taught at the Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri and Moorehead State University in Moorehead, Minnesota. He served as the associate Pastor at the Frisco Church in Webb City, Missouri; was the Minister at several churches to include, Community Assembly Church in Rogers, Arkansas, that he pioneered; Thorn Crown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas; Smith Chapel in Fayette, Missouri and the United Methodist Church in Anderson, Missouri, retiring in 2009.
Gary was an avid reader, artist, song writer, raised a wonderful garden to include tulips and roses, loved to cook and was a big Razorback Fan. He was a writer, writing a short story entitled “Fishing with Dad”. Gary was a very dedicated Teacher and loved his students. He was also a very talented musician, playing the piano, organ and coronet.
Gary is survived by his sister, Janice Lamb and husband, Jim of Webb City, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends who will dearly miss Gary.
Funeral service for Gary will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home. Doug Spears, Pastor Cecil Hall and Pastor Dennis Bergen will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon until service time in the funeral home.
