(From Parker Mortuary)Donald Lee Weston, age 88, of Joplin, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Donald, son of the late Jess Lee and Bernice (Bottenfield) Weston, was born on March 8, 1935, in Joplin. He was united in marriage to Loretta Ellison in June of 1955. They spent 59 years of marriage together enjoying raising a family and traveling in their RV to all 49 states and Canada before she preceded him in death in 2014.
He retired in Hurst, TX after 35 years of employment with AT&T. He returned to Joplin to make his home in October 2022. He loved fishing, hunting, and being involved in his community with charitable giving and volunteer efforts. Donald was a member of the Independence Masonic Lodge No. 76 AF & AM for 61 years. For 45 years he was also a 32° Scottish Rite Mason and a Moslah Shriner.
Survivors include his children, Kimbra Dotter, and Dena Goudy; grandchildren, Callie Dotter, Taylor David Goudy, and Zach Goudy; and one great grandchild, Jasper Dotter Rios. In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Margaret Weston Prince.
Masonic Rite services will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
Survivors include his children, Kimbra Dotter, and Dena Goudy; grandchildren, Callie Dotter, Taylor David Goudy, and Zach Goudy; and one great grandchild, Jasper Dotter Rios. In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by one sister, Neva Margaret Weston Prince.
