Buddy Garner

Buddy Gene Garner, 84, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023, at his home in Carthage, Missouri after a brief illness. Family and his beloved pets were at his side. 

Buddy was born March 14, 1939, to Jess Garner and Laura “Belle” Waggoner in Carthage, Missouri. Buddy graduated in the Class of 1957 from Carthage High School. 

He worked four jobs at the same time right out of high school; owning/operating a dump truck, working at a gas station, working for Carthage Marble, and doing mechanic work at night. He then worked for Snyder Bros. Company as a General Superintendent for 26 years. Buddy then partnered with his son, Curtis, and they owned and operated G & G Construction Company for 33 years. 








He took semi- retirement in January 2020. He loved his work. Buddy was a Free Mason and active Shriner for 42 years. Buddy enjoyed spending his spare time with family at their home on Beaver Lake.

Buddy married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Larma J. Triplett on April 7, 1957, in Carthage, Missouri; she preceded him in death on October 12, 2021.

Buddy is survived by his three children, Barry Garner, Curtis Garner, and Trina Garner; two daughters-in-law, Annette Garner and Gini Garner; two grandchildren, Jessica Robertson (Bryce) and Oscar Bunn; and two great grandchildren, Hayes Robertson and Hardin Robertson.

Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Larma; his parents, Jess and Belle Garner; a sister, Wilma Arnold; and a grandchild, Gabriel Blake Garner.








Buddy gave his life to his eternal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Ulmer Funeral Home. There will be an open visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. prior to the celebration.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Shriners Hospitals for Children in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
