Ouida Williams

Ouida Faye Williams, age 78 of Neosho, entered into rest on May 7, 2023, in Joplin, Missouri. 

Ouida was born August 31, 1944, in Milton, Florida, the daughter of Connie Edward and Minnie Ethel (Lunsford) Helms. She graduated from Milton High School in Florida and Meridian College in Meridian, Mississippi. She worked at Reiley’s Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi, before moving to the Neosho area in 1978. 








 
After moving to Neosho, she worked as a school nurse for the East Newton School District for 26 years. Ouida enjoyed shopping, crafts, decorating, flowers, and spending time with family. On May 17, 1963, in Milton, Florida, Ouida married John Paul Williams, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2020, after sharing 56 years together.

Ouida is survived by two children, Kimi (Aaron) Box of Neosho and Tim (Becky) Williams of Anderson; five grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) White, Michael Whittington, Ethan (Kendra) Williams, Kipp (Jordyn) Box, and Hunter Box; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Katlin, Isabella, Draven, Sydney, Zoey, Korra and one due to arrive in July 2023.






 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Gyton Kipp Williams, in 1966, a sister, Sybil Martin, and a brother, Gerald Helms.

Services will be held on Friday, May 12, 2023, at 10 am at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho; Pastor Jarod Proctor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery, and serving as pallbearers will be Tim Williams, Ethan Williams, Kipp Box, Hunter Box, Aaron Box, and Ben White. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
