Rosemarie Carnes

Rosemarie Carnes, age 80, of Neosho, entered into rest on February 5, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri. Rosemarie was born on March 25, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri, the only child of Albert and Estelle Loretta (Hartman) Harness.

She graduated in 1962 from Southwest High School in St. Louis and continue her education at David Lipscomb College, receiving a Master of Arts and Teaching degree in 1965. She then received her master’s degree in Reading Specialist from Webster University.






 

Rosemarie worked in the public school system of St. Louis in the elementary school a Title 1 reading teacher. Following retirement from education, Rosemarie and her husband, Kyle B. Carnes moved to Neosho. Rosemarie had served on the Neosho City Council and was a member of the Church of Christ. She had a fondness for animals, especially cats and dogs.

On September 1, 1973, in Brentwood, Missouri, Rosemarie and Kyle B. Carnes were united in marriage and Kyle preceded her in death on March 11, 2008.






 

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Lee, her grandfather, Floyd Jeremiah Hartman and her grandmother, Mary Della Allmon Hartman, who lived with her for many years. Rosemarie is survived by many friends, church family and her beloved cats.

Services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Rosemarie may be made to the Neosho Christian School.
