Mary England

Mary L. England, age 91, of Joplin, MO, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born on August 7, 1934, in Rocky Comfort, MO to her parents Robert and Lorena Bible. Mary lived a long and fulfilling life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and a devoted friend to many. Known for her kindness, warm smile, and unwavering support for her family, Mary’s legacy will live on through the countless memories shared by those whose lives she enriched.








Mary was a long-time resident of Joplin and active in her community. She was a woman strong in her Baptist faith and love of the Lord. She attended Harmony Heights Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church and College View Baptist Church throughout her life. She worked for many years as a laundry attendant for National Health Care and touched many lives through her dedication to helping others. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, from hosting holiday gatherings to attending school events for her grandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, Richard E. Bible; four children, Mary C. England, Lorena D. England, Johnnie L. England and Norman C. England; four grandchildren, Letisha Bever (Shawn), Craig England (Rebecca), Melissa Callahan (Scott), and Aubrie England; four great-grandchildren, Logan Bever, Jesalin Bever, Sloane Callahan and Dylan Callahan. Mary is preceded in death by her loving parents, three brothers, Bobby Bible, Artie Bible, and Carl “Cotton” Bible, and one daughter, Sharon F. England.








A visitation will be held to celebrate Mary’s life from 5:00-6:00pm on Thursday, January 1, 2025, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary, 3701 E 7th St, Joplin, MO. A graveside service will be held at 10:00am on Friday, January 2, 2025, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, 415 N. St. Louis, Joplin, MO.

Mary’s warmth, generosity, and enduring spirit will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. May she rest in peace.

  3. Mary was our neighbor the whole time I was growing up. The Joplin tornado took her house and my family home. So we lost touch with Mary. To her family and friends we will see her again she was a good women and its time for her to rest and meet Jesus.
