George L. Tate, age 90, of Purcell, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017.
He was born December 29, 1926 in Tarkio, Missouri to Calvin and Lora (Hicks) Tate.
George worked as a logger and as an independent truck driver.
He married Gladys Jennings on April 12, 1968 in Carterville, Missouri and she survives. George is survived by seven sons, Herman Tate and wife Glenda, Diamond, Missouri, Joseph Tate, Rick Tate, Ava, Missouri, Randy Tate and wife Cathy, Ava, Missouri, Jim Anderson and wife Carol, Anthony, Kansas, Kolyn Tate, Purcell, Missouri, Ralph Overcast; one brother, Lloyd Tate, Ava, Missouri; one daughter, Debbie Adams and husband David, Purcell, Missouri; one sister, Loetta Hall, West Plains, Missouri; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren including three granddaughters, a grandson and a great grandson he and Gladys helped raise, Jolene Ibarra, Jessica Alves, Chella Green, Cody Falk and Preston Hembree.
George was preceded in death by his parents, three sons, Michael Tate, Billy Tate, Tom Anderson, four sisters, Bessie Hall, Maria Hicks, Lucy Forrest, Genevieve Tate.
Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Webb City Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Nathan Haeck officiating.
