Allie E. Johnson, 82, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday morning, January 16, 2017 at Mercy Hospital, Carthage. Allie Emma-Gene Overby was born February 16, 1934 in Carthage, MO to the late Jess Ezra Overby and Alice Maybelle (Green) Overby. She attended school in Carthage, MO. Allie married Allen V. Johnson on July 9, 1951 in Benton, AR; he preceded her in death on February 12, 2007. She was a homemaker and a Christian by faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Constance JoAnn Williams (husband Frank), Aurora, MO, Marcia Lynn Millard (husband Kenny), Carthage, MO, Kim Lee Hagan (husband Martin), San Antonio, TX, and Laura Jean Pittman (husband Carey), Carthage, MO; three sons, Loyd Allen Johnson, Carthage, MO, L. Kyle Johnson (wife Shanda), Miller, MO, and Dennis Leo Johnson (wife Ruchelle), Carthage, MO; twenty six grandchildren, thirty seven great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Beth Ann Garza, three brothers, Charles Eugene Overby, Carl “Duke” Overby, and James “Buzzy” Overby, and four sisters, Gertrude “Irene” Wilson, Edna “Eve” Overby, Vinita “Annie” McKinnis, and Beverly JoAnn Carver.
Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m., Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Knell Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 5 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Knell Mortuary. Rev. Charles Bahn will officiate. Following the service, there will be a reception at Carthage Shrine Train Barn. Food may be dropped off during the day. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Misemer Cemetery, Miller, MO.
