Charles A. Calvin, 94, Carthage, MO, passed away Monday morning, January 16, 2017 at his home. Charles Atwell Calvin was born January 24, 1922 in Los Angeles, CA to the late Albert Calvin and Edna (Atwell) Calvin. He attended a two-year trade school in Los Angeles. He owned and operated Calvin Metal Craft in Oxnard, CA. Charles married Anita Ashmore on February 6, 1971 in Las Vegas, NV; she preceded him in death on March 30, 2014. He was a member of the Inventor’s Workshop.
Survivors include one daughter Micki Cortney (husband Pat), Carthage, MO; three sons, Jerome D. Calvin (wife Isobel), Oxnard, CA, Alan R. Calvin (wife Carol), Oxnard, CA, and Lynn Lucas (wife Sue), Diamond, MO; two sisters, Eleanor and Romaine; and eleven grandchildren, Craig Calvin, Glen Calvin, Gail Calvin, Brian Lazano, Jessica Griego, Jon Dawe, Jon Murphy, Trisha Lucas, Michelle Adams, Mitch Lucas, and Sophie Calvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one son, Charles A. Calvin, Jr.
