Wanda Embrey, 85, Stella, died January 23, 2017 at the Granby House.
She was born March 10, 1931 in Beaver County, Oklahoma, the daughter of William and Pearl Phelps. Wanda was a lifelong resident of the Wheaton-Rocky Comfort area and was a homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking and loved her horses. She was a member of the Jones Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.
Wanda married Bill VanSlyke on September 27, 1950 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1987. She later married J.C. Embrey on November 7, 1990 in Miami, Oklahoma and he survives. Additional survivors include a daughter, Linda Lewis and husband, Jim of Gravette, AR; three step children, Dennis Embrey and wife, Michelle of Stella, MO, Bruce Embrey and wife, Lori of Warrensburg, MO and Cindy Kirk of Lowell, AR; nine grandchildren, Billy Fair, Brenda Beville, Jon Embrey, Sara Embrey, Jamie Embrey, Jennifer Kirk, Allison Kirk, Michael Todd and Katelynn Shamblin and numerous great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Clark Funeral Home in Granby with Bro. Michael Blewett officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Billy White, Billy Fair, Brad White, Dennis Embrey, Justin Fair and Bruce Embrey. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
