James W. "Jim" Britz, age 52, Joplin, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital.
Jim was born November 25, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, son of the late John James Britz, Jr. and Marilyn Ruth Britz (Richert). He received multiple degrees from KU, Harvard and MIT. He worked as paramedic for several years, for the KCKS fire department and Denver Co fire department , and later he did investment banking for JP Morgan Chase and Goldman Sachs. He served in the United States Army reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn R. Britz whom he married July 30, 2007; children, Cassandra Flores of California and grandson Everisto, John James Britz III of Falls City, Nebraska; step-children, Kyra Mace of Falls City, Nebraska, Austin Mace, and Kenton Mace; sister, Mari Poulose and husband Abraham of Shawnee, Kansas; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service arrangements are pending.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Joplin Peace Tabernacle or the New Day Ministry.
