Annabell McAfee Roush, age 61 of Joplin, passed away at 8:31 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her home after a sudden illness.
Born November 18, 1952 in Joplin, she was the daughter of the late Donald A. McAfee, Sr. and Rose L. Butler McAfee and lived in Joplin her lifetime. A 1970 graduate of Joplin High School, she was a member of National Honor Society. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse credential through Franklin Technical School in 1971. A nurse for over 30 years, she worked in the Birthing Center at Freeman Hospital before retiring due to ill health. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Joplin, Ladies of the Elks Lodge, No. 501 and V.F.W. Post No. 534 Ladies Auxiliary.
On August 27, 1984 she married Michael Thomas Roush in Miami, OK. He survives.
Additional survivors include children, Eric Roush and Kimberly Roush of Webb City; two brothers, Donald McAfee, Jr. and wife Sally of Carl Junction, Tom McAfee and wife Johna of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Chapel with Rev. Jamie Tickel officiating. Interment will follow at Saginaw Cemetery with Jeff Roush, Tom and Don McAfee, Ronnie Nash, Craig Brumfield and Bruce Johnson serving as pallbearers. Joshua McAfee will be an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Joplin in care of the mortuary.
